Is there any way of knowing why a post has been edited /dropped or what content was changed by a mod?

You can see if one of your own posts was edited by a mod. If you click on the link given below the post, it'll tell you which mod edited it and show you the previous version. It doesn't tell you why they edited it however.
If a post is removed we sometimes let the user know why - if it was a FUG breach or veering off topic.
If a mod edit a post then usually we post a note at the bottom:
[Mod edit (MF): reason]
