Almost all my non-work browsing is on mobile. Like a few people here i have JavaScript off on mobile. Is is easy to have a +1 that works in html?

Any idea how many visitors/members are JS off?

I'm sure all four of us would really appreciate it : ).

All three of you are impacted. Yes it can be done but it is basically duplicating something we already have. I am more interested in placing an upload form in the forum reply, seeing that some people still can't read the link "Upload an image" present in all pages...

You got me. I am a bit lazy with that. At least now, I have to find HTTPS images to link. : ).

It would be really nice if the uploader accepted a link to an image.

It does. I've just uploaded an image now from a URL.

I am getting a bit tired of people who ask for things that are already there. Like someone asking "Even a URL to image upload page on the new post / reply page would save a few clicks" and the being pointed that indeed these have been there... for years now.

I mean, can't get more clearer than that.

Yes yes, fair call... I obviously missed those upload links which removes 2x steps from the process but still leaves about 10x too many..

Perhaps if you had a structured system for feature requests people would stop asking the same questions over and over...

Similarly if these features are already there then perhaps you could take this "feedback" as an indication of possible UX improvements:

i.e. One may assume an "Image Upload" button to be within proximity to the - if not part of the - "Insert Image" button; as opposed to a link at the bottom of the page. Also if image upload form accepts a URL...it should probably say so..

How is that uploading to imgur is so much easier than uploading to Geekzone? You still have to select the file, upload, get the link, etc. It's not easier and actually takes you away from the site

Fair call. I looked into uploading from TinyMCE but it requires some coding that I don't have the time to do. What I am thinking of doing right now is adding the image upload field straight there in the reply form.

I'm not comparing to imgur; I'm comparing to being able to copy&paste into the post body - (as was previously possible as base64) probably ideally with JS front-end handling upload etc transparently, or just b64->file conversion backend.

@gzt: Hmm. Doesn't seem to work that way on Android.

I can't do much if the browser implementation doesn't do it. Up until a few versions ago Chrome Android wouldn't upload any image at all.
