Disclaimer: I know nothing about Android. Hardly ever use it. Don’t understand a thing about it.

Having said that, I ran into something weird on my Android tablet today. I loaded Geekzone but didn’t log in because I was in town on insecure wi-fi and just wanted to check latest posts. First, I got the complaint about my ad blocker. Don’t know if that is related to what came next. As a point of information, I am using UC browser though this has never caused problems before.

Anyway, all the forum posts are now crammed into a tiny, narrow column only two or three words wide squeezed over to the left side of the screen and extending downward for many pages. Header layout is normal, just the post body texts are weird. I can’t find any way to change this. I know some layout changes have been made to GZ recently and am wondering if they might have anything to do with this. Everything still looks normal on my desktop, just the Android tablet has become unusable.

Just tried on Chrome Canary without logging in, and this thread was fine. Do you by any chance have the browser settings configured to request desktop site/pages instead of mobile?

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

All of the topics you visited or just a few? Links to affected posts would help.

Installed UC browser. It doesn't support the div tags we use. I suggest Chrome or Opera (if you really want the data saving feature).

It's not a biggie for me as I rarely use the tablet, just that it worked normally before and now it doesn't and I don't think I changed anything at my end. The problem was not with any specific post, but with all posts. At first I tried to read the nuclear power thread but when the problem occurred I tried another thread just to see if it made any difference and it didn't. The thread title displayed normally across the full width of the screen and all of the Geekzone layout above that was normal, but all of the text in the different thread posts was in a much smaller font and all crammed to the left side with no more than two words per line in a very narrow column. I could provide a screenshot if someone could tell me how in Android.

I'm not too bothered by this but thought I should report it in case it is indicative of a larger problem. I have tried the Opera browser in the past but I prefer UC on this tablet, which is old and slow.

@Stu: Not sure how the tablet is configured. It might well be on desktop pages. I find the settings confusing and difficult so anything is possible. I will try to check it later if I can figure out how to change it.

This should sum it up https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=4&topicid=214260&page_no=3#1794078

Any browser that does not support Flex will use the 10% width CSS
