is it just me or does anyone else keep mistaking the "status box" for a search box? :p

Yes, did the same thing too. Also cant figure out how to remove status.

It could cause some embarrassment especially after a few largers, though you'd probably be safe on geekzone unless you happen to respond to hardware and software with exclaimations of yeah baby yeah!

As satch has pointed out, you can enter a space.

However, that will not change your last status to a space, it will assume your last status change was whatever you had actually typed in last. It does however recognise a sinlge fullstop.

Do not forget, http://www.geekzone.co.nz/statusmanagement.asp, you can delete your status from there also.
