My laptop has gone rogue. It keeps unsubscribing me from different threads. It would really be helpful if the unsubscribe function would also say what thread was being unsubscribed from, so I know which one to restore.

How could your laptop unsubscribe you from threads?

John

Edit: Maybe your laptop needs a priest to perform an exorcism on it or something

It just does. It has happened several times now. I think it is sending random keypresses or mouse clicks. It would be helpful if I could see what thread it is so I can undo it.

So scolling past emails with the unsub links and accidentally clicking rather than the link to post then...

I seriously doubt a hardware or software issue. I suspect an accidental chair to keyboard interface failure.

It would have to be accurate random key and track pad clicks to do this. If it were a hardware or software fault you would be experiencing issues throughout your usage of the device. I am with the others there must be something else happening here.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

How many tabs are open? Some weird accidental cross site scripting javascript interaction?

On my tablet or phone if I am using my right thumb to scroll up or down it is really easy to hit either the watch or set answer buttons unless you expand the page enough to shift them off the right edge.

I had a problem with the trackpad buttons some time ago so switched it to tap only, one finger for left, two for right, no gestures. This usually works pretty well but it does sometimes seem to produce phantom clicks, or maybe it is just on a hair trigger. (Or maybe it is because I am old and sometimes make involuntary movements!) At any rate, I have ended up on the subscription removal page several times with no idea how I got there. It just says the subscription has been removed with no indication as to which subscription it is referring to. My post, and this thread, is about that, not about my laptop. It would be convenient, if not too much trouble, to have the subscription page actually  say what is being unsubscribed to.

Trackpads. Shudder. Turn off and use a mouse for a while.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions (not). The question was if it is possible for Geekzone to specify the thread that is being unsubscribed to. That is the only question.

It seems pointless using a scattershot when you have such a precise target.

Why didn't you just private message the one person who can do something? BDFL - Memuneh

If you don't want other people's comments (nice or not) then the best thing, as suggested, is just send me a PM.

It's not hard to do it. I will see it when I have some time.
