Over the past few days, the way my Geekzone pages get refreshed has changed. Previously, when a new page was loaded, the transition would be (nearly) instantaneous. I think the old page would continue to be displayed until the new one was loaded, then they would switch. I'm not sure if that description is correct but that is how it appeared to me.

Now I am getting long delays, sometimes as much as a second or more, while a blank screen is displayed. I have been having issues with my Internet speeds so I don't know if it is related to that, but I don't think so. It seems to happen the same even when my speeds are good.

My question is if something has changed in the way content is delivered. Could this be related to the cloud server? I am not complaining about it, just trying to understand it better.

I have added one script to Google Analytics yesterday afternoon. Have you noticed this before that time?

All the same where I am.  Check your DNS, Wi-Fi, etc.  Try using different DNS for a while to test.  Try ethernet if continues to happen on Wi-Fi.

Also check if your browser has had a recent update or needs one.

Similar... I have not noticed anything different, even after the change I mentioned.

It started before yesterday afternoon. The difference is really noticeable. It does not seem to happen on other sites. I am not on wi-fi. I will follow suggestions and check DNS, etc. Thanks for that.

I have also noted a delay. I thought it was IPv6 related as I haven't been seeing delays on other sites.

Give it a rest. I'm just asking a question.

Maybe it is linked to your slow internet speeds you have described in another thread. As said there..school holidays etc places extra demand on band width.

I also have noticed a change, and this happens at home, work and via Voda mobile. When a link to a thread is clicked, you get a screen with a grey gradient background for 3-5sec, then the page fully loads. Connection speeds a a mix of mobile, 100/20 and >1G BIA.

Since yesterday, or maybe Wednesday, I've been getting a white (Firefox) or grey (Brave, Chrome) background for 1-2 seconds before the rest of the content loads. It's good to see that it's not just me.

Like Rikkitic I have noticed a delay, in the last 72 hours approx I have noticed I am getting a blank grey between page loads. This is in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. I have noticed it in Win10 and MacOS.

I am on Orcon 900+ Fibre using default DNS etc

I figured it must be a Cloudfare issue so hadn't done anything about it.

The delay is short about 2seconds

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

The above posts are exactly what I am experiencing. Thanks for the confirmation.

I just tried changing my browser and DNS server, no difference.

Am getting this too, going to a new page or full refresh, the page stays on the background for a few seconds before everything else pops in (text, thread posts, Geekzone Live sidebar, links). Best way to describe is the background (black to gray gradient) is there, page can be scrolled down depending on size of the thread at the time but nothing else loads.

Am on IPv6 on campus at the university of auckland. Mobile 4G on vodafone also has the issue, has a pure gray background because the popup for turning off my adblocker on mobile takes 3-4 seconds to show as well.

I also have noticed a delay when browsing on mobile over the last day.

Nothing noticeable on desktop.

This is the most accurate description of what I am also seeing.

I never thought much of it, this website is still well with in my specification for seamless use. I wouldn't be worried.
