How cheap is cheap? I have seen a Polyvision in action and it looked quite resonable.

There are only a few factories around the woreld that actually make the LCD panels. So you may find the panel is the same as used in higher priced sets. Most electronics come out of China/Taiwan these days. The specs look good. There is a difference between a 'cheap price' and 'cheap TV'. I would say it is a 'cheap price' rather than a 'cheap TV'. There is currently a glut of LCD TV's on the market. Only 3% of new TV sales in the USA were LCD in the last year. Which is way below expectations.

I was reading that it should have a 16: aspect ratio and 3:2 pulldown ratio, I cant see anywhere on the specs that relate to this. Am I missing them? is it critical that it has them? Sorry for the noobness, but I know sod all about LCD TV !

You're probably talking about 16:9 aspect ration - which is characteristic of a widescreen TV.

Yes, widescreen should be essential, specially if you plan to watch DVD movies on this LCD panel!
