The only search capability I can find on GZ is the on the Home bar (Home/Forums/News.....).  While a search initiated from here can be refined to forums only, it returns hits that come as part of a members signature.  Try searching for 'Backblaze' - you get loads of @freitasm posts because of his sig.

Are there other search options?  If not can an option be offered to search forum posts subject lines only, or possible subject and body excluding signature text?

You can always use Google Search with the site:geekzone.co.nz filter.

Thanks Mauricio - that works fine.

You can always use Google Search with the site:geekzone.co.nz filter.

That works upto a certain extent.

But it would be nice from within the site Search function to be able to narrow it to a particular word or phrase: in a particular Forum, in a particular Topic within a particular Forum and maybe a particular User Name. So before you hit the Search button you can choose the; Forum, then the Topic and then the User Name depending on how deep you want the Search. The search results then display all the Post's not the Page's.

eg: Nissan Leaf 2011 (forums only) is still too broad as it only brings up results by the Page and not the Post containing the search word or phrase. In this particular case; 2011

Once I have the Page I then tend to use the Browser Find function Cmd⌘-F to Find and highlight all mentions (2011). That becomes laborious for a large Topic like the Nissan Leaf.

Quite often I want to search for a particular User Name's reply within a Topic but again that becomes quite laborious in large Topics.

Just some thoughts 🎓

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
