Hi everyone,

First-time post so please be gentle ! [puts on flame suit] - I'm sure there's simple answers but I for the life of me can't work it out.

I've read the posting guide and used the search but have failed to figure out:

1) How to reply to posts in the Bargins & Deals forum - there's no option to "Reply to Post" like I see in other forums and

2) How are people including quotes from previous posts (that are surrounded by a black box).

And while I'm asking questions - is there an App or something else that provides a better user experience in the forums rather than Windows 10/Chrome browser that I'm currently using.

Thanks heaps !

Welcome... No flames, I am afraid.

Some sub-forums require a minimum of participation around before they're unlocked - this is a simple way to prevent spam. This includes Offers/Wanted, Politics and Bargains/Deals.

There's a "QUOTE" button for each topic or reply - but it only appears for topics after a certain number of replies. Too many people would hit "QUOTE" on the first reply, making it a wall of text for no good reason at all.

We don't have a mobile or otherwise desktop app.

As much as I enjoy writing out HTML tags when trying to create posts on mobile, surely there is an intern or two lying around at Intergen that needs a "special project"....

And welcome friend, no flames here, just the occasional snarky post or negative nancy. And a metric butt-ton of 💩 talk with odd nuts of wisdom

Welcome to Geekzone!

ShinyChrome puts it very well. There's also BBCode if you want to quote other users or do a few other formatting tasks manually.

Just don't overuse that quote button and keep quoting over and...

...over...

...and over...

otherwise

posts start to look like this and it gets annoying... :p

I hadn't seen that thread. By the end it's a bit like standing between 2 mirrors and gazing into infinity....  ;D

The trickiest one is inserting YouTube video's

But the moderator has done a great explanation here

iMac 27" (late 2013), Airport Time Capsule + Airport Express, iPhone7, iPad6, iPad Mini2

Panasonic Blu-ray PVR DMR-BWT835 + Panasonic Viera TH-L50E6Z, Chromecast Ultra, Yamaha AVR RX-V1085

... trimmed for brevity like a good boy ...

One thing to remember is that every time someone quotes a post with your username call-out tag in it, it sends you a notification saying this user has mentioned you.

Now quote me for every post and everyone on this thread gets 2 x notifications!

And all this time I had been using a tags for links like a sucker...
