@freitasm how do you feel about a vaxx indicator on the profile?

One shot, two shot, booster, etc. Can't be automatic and it would have to be a topic with notification and mod profile update or self profile update checkboxes.

and you'd have to add a vaccine shaming ban to the FUG before things get out of hand ; ).

Bit of a touchy subject isn't it? what about the people who can't get vaccinated? are they going to get judged as being against it? I don't think this is a good idea if you want as harmonious a forum as possible

You talk about the FUG being updated to stop this but I don't think it will stop judgement of people in general

I know you mean well, but maybe we shouldn't encourage the outing of this information

Just sayin'

I personally wouldn't use this as I am quite sensitive around any personal medical information, and would be worried that my lack of of a vaccination 'declaration' might make people think I'm anti-vaccination.

Given it's being flagged potentially getting out of hand before even being implemented seems to be a warning not to do it. Also, as @alasta points out, medical information is considered very private and personal by a lot of people, and not something they would want to publicise.

I feel like this is more the sort of thing to have a thread on and allow people who wish to share the chance to do so, without enforcing it (even if being a profile option isn't enforced, it 'feels' more so than just replying to a thread where people are interested).

Indicators for 'can't vaxx' and 'prefer not to say' could mitigate some of these concerns.

I thought it would be a good thing and motivating/reminder for geekzone active users.

Thanks for the responses everyone. This does now seem like a very bad idea from a privacy and harmony perspective. I'm in the no camp after considering all the good reasons above.

It's a "no" from me too, I can't really see the point.

If you really want to share your vaccination status then put it in your message signature.

I also think it sounds like a bad idea. While most people would most likely be fine I can see it resulting in some cases of people taking at as an excuse to be quite nasty without real reason (like how people tend to attack people without masks even if they have a fully valid reason for why they can't wear one)
