I'm on CGNAT, so I probably share the same IP address with many other 2degrees broadband users (btw 2degrees broadband support , speed and service is crap).


At times I cannot login to the website due to 'too many connections from this IP'.


Will we see a fix for this?

Also, the most likely scenario here is trying to login with the wrong password and being locked out due to rate limiting.

If that's the case it has nothing too do with connections but requests. And the scenario won't play due to CGNAT but too many failed login attempts.

Are you seeing this on the same device you just posted your recent replies? I am not seeing this for the IP address and not even much traffic from that IP. We certainly have a lot more from other networks and IP - just last night I ran a security scan and we were doing 1.5k requests per second at that time and traffic from your IP is not even a tiny % of that.

I was trying to login.

 

No, I had to disconnect from 2dm several times and reconnect to get a different IP address, and then it worked.

The only 2degrees traffic that was rate limited was someone trying to login - tried 11 times while rate limited from 10.53pm to 10.56pm

I am guessing that was you. If so, all working as intended. You entered the wrong password a few times then got locked out for 15 minutes.
