I'm getting increasingly fed up with gmail, so have set up a @duck.com address in preparation for moving to another platform (probably protonmail).

 

I just tried to change the email address associated with my GZ account, but it failed with a message "I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that (B)".

 

Is it possible?

 

(yes I could set up another account, but I'm proud of being an Ultimate Geek)

Definitely doable. I just did it now as a test. 

 

Process I took: 
Your profile > Edit my profile > Current password & E-mail > UPDATE > confirmation email link

 

Edit: perhaps it's something to do with ID verification?

The message means it is s blocked domain.

I can manually change it. Send me a PM with new email.

Is there any reason that Proton.me is blocked? I actually have started using it with a paid account because it's a good platform and I like their privacy-centric "we don't sell your data" business model and haven't found a decent personal domain to tether it to yet so was a bit bummed I couldn't use it.

The only reason I block a domain: spam/scam.

If you're an existing user I can manually change your accountcto a blocked domain. But not automatically and not for new users.

While we are on this subject, I can't change most of my settings because of the blocked account issue. I don't want to change my email because I have used this for years. Is there any way to get at my settings without changing my email?
