Just thought I would find out how Geekzone members view and participate in Geekzone when they are on the go and also perhaps find out the best way to keep up with posts.

I guess I should start off.  I view Geekzone through my mobile quite often, on my Nokia N95.  However, I find it a little difficult to follow threads without making endless number of bookmarks.

- iPod touch (Safari + Mail, kind of like a PC really...)
- Mobile (Opera Mini + it's RSS Feed reader + Mobile Gmail)

Keeping track of posts - I don't really, I kind of view what I like and remember where I left off. The "New forum posts" feature is good for this. If I really do want to track, then I "Watch this topic" and get notifications sent to my inbox.

Addition of the Quick Reply box helps too - no need to go through another page :)

I mostly view Geekzone from a PC, but do sometimes from my N95 if on the go.

Geekzone on an N95 is a less than ideal experience however, and I would love to see a mobile version of the site (Or at least the forums)

I view on my laptops mainly, but sometimes on my Windows Mobile - I know it's not ideal, quite heavy on that. But still works. One of the reasons for the Quick Reply box really - more to come. I am thinking of getting rid of all those javascript in the forum buttons, make it much easier on any browser.

Yeah it is the java that really slows and prohibits viewing and participating on Geekzone. Wish Geekzone had a mobile site (forums included) to really keep in touch with the latest.

Look forward to further developments:)

Browse via the BB storm very often, Tried using RSS on Blackberry but did not like

Switching the BB Browser to column view makes things easy to read, just lots of scrolling to do

There's no Java on Geekzone.

Javascript is not Java. The names are similar but they are completely different stuff.

i use my PC. Since there is no mobile version, I won't touch it with my phone yet. My experience so far is unless it's a 'mobile site' it'll take forever to load, look wrong, and be horrible to use.

I'm already accumulating a good collection of mobile sites to find stuff. If the iPhone/iPod Touch has done one thing, it's made more sites 'mobile'*

* my opinion based on experience and supposition, by no means based on facts

Opera Mini runs Geekzone pretty well. It's just all the scrolling that can be a little frustrating.

Totally non mobile. RSS feed is it main way I get to see new stuff on geekzone.
If there is a thread that I want to follow, I click watch this topic, and get email updates,
would like to see that as a rss feed with the 1st 8 line of the posting. But I like to dream a lot.

Do you mean a personalised RSS feed with only the threads you are following?
