How can you add clickable hyperlinks to forum posts? Some posts have these but I have not been able to figure out how it is done. A Geekzone forum search on 'Add Hyperlinks' didn't help.

Where I have added a url to a topic like my recent Vodafone Forum subject on Get 70 replaced with Easy 20 it just turns up as text.

If you are using the rich-text editor and Internet Explorer, URLs will be automatically added - or if using any other browser keep reading...

If you are using the rich-text editor you can select a word (or words), click the LINK button and enter the URL.

Have you thought about implementing bbcode or markdown Mauricio, it's not too complex just some regex or string replaces in the server side code during processing the post before saving to the DB.

Thanks, I use Firefox which needed the text to be selected then the link to be added using the link icon shown in your graphic above. I have succeeded in adding a link to my Vodafone forum post. Couldn't see this explained anywhere.

Now just need to figure out what the "What are you doing?' text box is for - there is no forum by that name. I must be missing something as I can't find help on this. What's missing is a Help button (next to the Blogs button) that explains Geekzone features.

Yes, thought of that. Just have to come around doing it. Always changing things around. Who knows when this is coming...

Ah, I see, "What are you doing?" is the "Friends Status" field. I guess I wasn't thinking enough like a Geek as I had looked through the FAQ but missed this connection. Thanks for the Help!

It looks like the quick reply can use html, which isn't much more typing than bbcode.

I use this toolbar in firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4763
it's the textformating toolbar, it lets me make links...

freitasm:

Now I get how the hyperlink option works! You need to type your text first and then highlight it to get the hyperlink option.

Now we only need a spellchecker in the Wysiwyg :)
