Hello there,

I have noticed that there is little presence on Facebook!

I know you have a group page, but I think there should be an actual GZ fan page.

They are a lot more interactive and easier to send out updates than a standard group page. For example I setup a New Zealand fan page just over a month ago which now has just over 49,000 fans.

Fan pages are also very cool as you can intergrate them with Twitter. Just a thought as it could help increase the visibility of GZ...

I've been on Facebook Geekzone Page ever since I've join Facebook but it hardly get any vital updates on it, if used correctly, it can be quite useful, for certain off-Geekzone way of communication too.

I know, neither am I. but when I have about 9 pages and close to 100,000 people I can communicate with, I am happy with it.

Exactly my point. It's not like we are selling a product - we have a dynamic, live community here. WE already provide Twitter integration for all users (and Twitter is already in our top 10 referrals). Facebook is a completely different type of "support" - convenient for companies selling products and services.

It's very important that people don't mix "social media" with "marketing" with "community" and think a Facebook page is the remedy for all problems...
