I would like to un-register from this site. How can I do that?

What's the point, you've done nothing here.

Hahaha this thread needs to be moved to a new 'Jokes' forum!

Signs up, then first post is to ask to be unregistered. That's gold!

I have removed the user account, and changed the username. He can't login again.

What is really annoying are those people who register, ask a question like "I have a problem, help me" and when the solution is given send me a PM asking to remove their account. Those are really the idiots.

In this case here I wonder why someone would register and the first post 30 seconds later is to be removed.

Some people. Really...

No, there isn't something like that.

Might be something to look at.... saves on time administering to wallys such as the OP and others youve mentioned...just let their account expire and get purged.
Would make the databases a bit lighter too throwing out the trash :)

No, I rather leave it. Not many people ask to be removed, and when they do is not those - but ones who register, get an answer to their problems and want to go away, all in one week.

It seems these people think of the Internet as their big help desk, and they just don't think before entering details anywhere.

It's not like you just have to enter an email to register on Geekzone. You need to enter the email, receive a confirmation, click on a link, fill the details, submit. Plenty of time for people to THINK.

SQL Server is designed to handle millions and millions of rows so purging data is uneccesary and pointless, there won't be any problem with the database performance.

I wonder was this a case of a guy that didn't want to recieve emails from GZ but wasn't smart enough to find the site options in edit profile?

Can't you change all of your details in edit profile anyway... hilarious...

How about the users who post a question, get a handful of answers, and then re-edit their original post to blank.  How helpful to anyone else with the same question!

I've seen edit timers used to combat this on other forums.. i.e. you can edit your post, but only for up to 30 minutes from posting it - more than enough time to correct any spelling mistakes, etc.
