Should we have/create a New Zealand Politics forum?

If the off-topic forum were inundated with politics threads then I would say yes, but as far as I can see there are relatively few at the moment.

I'd have to suggest no. As much as I love a good political argument, I don't think it has a place on the forum, unless it specificially relates to IT policy. I could imagine such a forum going down-hill very quickly.

If anyone really really wants a political arena to fight it out, let me know and I can add one to my forums :)

But for Geekzone, Id say no as well, its Geekzone, not "lets be a random forums site"...like mine is atm ;)

I vote no, Politics should only be discussed here in the context of Technology and it's impact on it don't you think.

If I really want to stir things up with a good political debates or voice my thoughts, I'd use twitter or Facebook :-)

Nopers! If anything, it would come under general discussion, which would be the 'catch-all' for all things not covered y another forum.

Very, very, very BAD IDEA!!!

It is nice to see a certain level of decorum being maintained on GZ, unlike many of the other forums out there. To introduce a Politics, Religion or other similar forum is just a recipe for the standards maintained on GZ to start sliding downhill.

If you want a good political debate, check out John Key's facebook page:

Oh bugger, they have just deleted the post from Dakta about legalising cannabis which was in the middle of a thread about the cycle trail. It was so funny, pity you missed it...

For plenty more of this type of anarchy, be sure to check out the link above, but for those who want some sanity to be preserved in their forum browsing, Geekzone is a great place to be!
