Hello folks

I have just drunk a couple of cups of espresso and decided to code a "Watch Forum" feature. It's similar to the existing "Watch Topic", but for forum topics: if you click the [Watch Forum] button then you will receive an email when a new topic is created in that specific forum.

You can unsubscribe to those notifications by clicking the link at the end of those emails.

Excellent, just did it for this topic to see how it goes:)

Can you also allow the "Watch Topic" button to display "UnWatch Topic" to unsubscribe too rather than just through e-mail?

Notice there's an existing [WATCH TOPIC] and a new [WATCH FORUM] button. They have different functionality - one notifies of new topics in a forum, the other notifies of replies in a topic.

I assume the functionality is similar to that of watching the RSS feed for each forum?

No. The RSS feed is updated whenever a topic is updated - some old topics may "surface".

The Watch Forum will email you when a new topic is created, once only.

this.is.awesome.

That is all I used an RSS reader for, knowing when there were new threads in certain forums.

Perfect.

Thanks!

Good feature, thanks.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!
