The geek in my is most interested in digital cameras, spefically digital SLRs, but film cameras may also be included.

I know I have some questions I need looking into - like the 1GB XD card for the fujiifilm finepix s5500, will this require a firmware upgrade, and any links to relivant sites, etc?

After a bit of research, have been able to answer the "firmware" question myself. No, don't need to upgrade.

What I have been able to garner is the Olympus M1GB Panaromic doesn't recommend video to their card, so, so fare, the Fujifilm M1GB - despite the slightly higher price - may be the way to go.
