I don't think so. The Nextel is not a GSM network and I think their handsets are SIM locked.

Nextel is an IDEN network - the only one in the world I think.

They only have one model that works as a IDEN and GSM phone to allow roaming, and it's the Motorola i930 Windows Mobile Smartphone. Even that one is SIM locked.
