I will give a prize for the second hidden message.

I'm testing a change to make ads load AFTER the HTML rendering is complete. Unlike someone suggested there are no more ads - I am actually trying to make the site faster while keeping the same number of ads.

Some people... I wonder if they'd work for free.

I noticed the geekzone discussions list had vanished - yes - I had installed adblock for chrome because I found from time to time the ads seemed to stall and stop me accessing geekzone.
Just disabled adblock and the discussions list came back.

Hmm - Im not the most observant person - cant see anything else different....

Was geekzone live there before - cant say I had noticed that.

Probably an AdBlock bug.

We load the discussions as a javascript call, so we can reload it every few minutes, without the need of a user initiated page refresh. What I've done this morning is just enable a Javascript Async load feature across the site, so I guess AdBlock is thinking this is an ad and blocking the whole thing.

My suggestion is to either disable AdBlock or change your profile setttings to make it a manual refresh.

If "Most replies in this discussion" and "Geekzone Moderators" are not used/seen at all I might even remove these - less database operations...

Yeah the missing discussion thing with adblock enabled is annoying. Can't stand those flash based ads though. Too distracting

Well, that's the balance thing. We can enable a faster loading Geekzone by making all javascript asychronous. On the other hand AdBlock prevents live updates...
