The recent GZ Stalk feature reminded me of another feature request I meant to make before Xmas. At times forum post subject lines are not specific enough - certainly not enough to identify which forum it belongs to. For example the currently active thread of How many customers in February. I had to view the article to realise it is in the 2degrees forum.

Can we perhaps have some kind of "tooltip" of some sort on hover over either the link, or the detail bits, on the home page listing? Would be handy when glossing over the list of postings.

Thanks.

Can do. Mind you I put this in the "blame the user" too basket.

Users must remember that a well thought out subject will increase the chances of more people reading the post, replying to it and make it easier to find later from a search...

By the, noticed how now you have to read a Forum Tips page before you post a new topic?

Yeah i can see how adding the forum a post is in will make the list more cluttered and often it will be providing unnecessary information. Really this is more about users making decent topic titles.

Yup - I noticed the Forum Tips. Admittedly I didn't read it very thoroughly though! That can contribute towards "blame the user too" basket.

I don't think it will make the list much more cluttered though. This is why I suggested tooltip - either through a tag in the link, or maybe a floating div on hover over the listing, or something along those lines. Basically it is not a permanent feature on the list - only visible when hovering over the listing item.

The forum name and topic will appear now as a tooltip for each item in the frontpage (both Forums and Hot Topics).

Now THAT is what I call great service! Were you smiling? Can I call it "great service with a smile"? :o)

Thanks - much appreciated!
