My friend in America sent me some American mobiles and I was wondering if they would work on the New Zealand networks.

Are these GSM or CDMA phones? CDMA should work fine providing they're tri-band and not SIM locked. CDMA is a different story, and you have to ask Telecom NZ to configure each one, and Telecom may not allow them to connect to its network.

The phones are tri-band and one of them is quad-band, and he said he has unlocked them and all I need to do is buy a Simcard (I'll probly get a Vodafone Prepay card).

Ooops. Just reading my first post... Where I've said "CDMA should work fine providing they're tri-band", please read "GSM...".

Good stuff, if they're unlocked, just get the SIM card and start using!
