We made some changes during the weekend and you can now pin Geekzone to the Windows 7 taskbar when using Internet Explorer 9.

To do this open Geekzone in Internet Explorer 9, then drag the icon to the taskbar.

You can now access Geekzone directly from the taskbar. IF you right-click the icon you will see some links in the jump list, for direct access to some areas on the site.

We plan to put some notifications there too, including PMs and new forum posts. This should be coming in the next few weeks.

i dont actually get anything on the jump list. is there a trick to making it work? do you need to add to trusted sites or something? Is there a caching issue?

Open the source page and look for the meta declaring the tasks in the head section. Are they there?

If not, visit www.devnull.geek.nz and post the UA agent here.

EDIT:

after clicking on the "compatibility view" icon (broken page icon), and removing/reading shortcut, the jump list started working.

Isnt there a flag you can set to say the page is IE9 compatibile so it wont try and offer the compatibilty view?
