Unfortunately I think we can call it not happening based on what I'm seeing in Ch.
Any update if it's going ahead or should the prizes just be farmed out to those that signed up for it?

Cheers
Tel

I've seen two venues that could hold the event. Myself and others (including people in Christchurch) have discussed it a number of times. It's been suggested that it be held after winter for various reasons. Nothing penciled in as yet though. Anything you know that may have been missed?

Still very keen to see it go ahead!

It was going to be at Spagalimis on Victoria Street, wasn't it? When I went past there a couple of weeks ago it appeared as if they were outside of the red zone and the building was undamaged.

In any case I'd definitely be keen to come along if and when it happens.

Nope. Just had a call from them an hour or so ago and it seems this has finally been resolved today and they've credited my bank account.

I am very much looking forward to this.  I hope it still happens.

A lot of people in CHC just want to get back to normal and I really hope it happens sooner than later.

It would be good to support Spagalimis as well.  A lot of businesses are just opening for the first time since the quake and they need business quickly or they go under..  Margins are so tight!

Well Spags Victoria St is up and going again.
A close meeting place for pre drinks and close accomodation for out of towners still might be an issue, but not insurmountable. (They can camp out in my back yard with a pre built long drop)

I'm sure they can be sorted, however getting the coffee the guys from WGN drool over for might be an issue.
We might have to give them instant coffee. Laughing
But hey, one step at a time.

Ooops. I thought I had replied here, but obviously it was in another thread...

We will have the event, but we won't do it until spring - CHC in winter is cold!

Good to see Spags is back. We will probably do it there.

Spring is good for CHC as by then more establishments will be back on some level of normal operation.

But for the mean time, anyone in CHC wanna join in odd tweetup, there's one happening this Thursday. #JBWCMay11 :-) http://twtvite.com/jbwcMay11
