I feel like I use the rich editor about 50% of the time, so an option to have it as the default editor would be nice for me.

Hmmm. Might not be easy as we have problems with TinyMCE and image sprites and async script loading...

Ok. Had to ask. I'll just check if format tags work in the quick reply box:

in quotes

Is there a list of tags to reference somewhere?

You just found all of them... For hyperlinks, just enter the URL, not a href. Images don't work in Quick Reply box.

My suggestion would be to switch both quick reply and full reply to a "Markdown" style editor similar to the one used on Stackoverflow/Stack Exchange sites.

There are a whole bunch of options, was looking at this one recently for a CMS site myself

Markdown would be excellent and a nice standard solution imho.

Something I really miss on GeekZone compared to other editors I have used is strike-through, aka strike out, aka strike. Markdown does not actually solve that one out of the box. It is unclear to me why markdown has not adopted strike, because many sites using markdown roll their own code to implement strike, which creates a non-standardised syntax for something that is very common in practice and therefore should be part of the standard...

[Edit: Note: i have previously discussed strikethrough not working on geekzone here, result was only administrators can use it, tinymce span tags are disabled]
