Hi all,

I got a new SIP phone to test the other day - a Aastra 57i. Got it going with my OpenVFX line great after wrestling with a few settings. Went for a day then locked up for some unknown reason. Rebooted the phone and it wouldn't register.

I went into the web UI of the phone and it tells me I was getting a 405 error, which when I looked up the SIP code it means "Method not allowed".

I double checked all the settings and all seemed fine so I was a bit stumped.

I then went back to my previous SIP device - an app called Bria on my iPhone - this has worked great for the last 2-3 months - now this too says the same - "405 - method not allowed" and fails to register.

So at this stage I figure - sounds like a WxC issue, maybe my account is blocked for some reason. So I call support, and am told Open VFX, no support, try Geekzone. So, here I am.

Any ideas?

Pretty disappointed to tell the truth that there wasn't even anyone that was prepared/able to look in to the problem until Monday. OpenVFX, I know, so I appreciate no support for my device, no issue there. If I wanted this kind of non-service I'd have gone with 2talk...

I'm using Open VFX also, and whenever I change devices (or factory reset them) I tend to have problems. It seems to register fine and make outgoing calls, but no incoming calls.

What is needed in my case is for the support desk to clear or delete the current registration - after that I was able to try registering again and iw was successful.

This might be worth trying in your case, good luck!

Cheers

Thanks for that - I know what you mean about the registration issue when changing devices. Unfortunately no registration is showing in the portal this time, and support aren't prepared to do anything until Monday.

Thanks for the response :)

Nevermind people, I've switched to 2talk (everything working fine now) and initiated a number port for my landline.

Thanks for reading :)

You don't need to call the help desk just turn the device off, and leave it off for a few minutes (2 should do it) turn it on and it will register first time.
