Does anyone here know how this works?  My father has tried a few times to get Vodafone to take over his Sky account, each time they tell him they can't because "The name on your SKY account (first name, last name or both) does not match the name on your Vodafone account. The names on your SKY and Vodafone accounts need to match before we can transfer your SKY account to Vodafone."

His name on the Sky account is

Firstname Initial Surname

on the Vodafone account is it

Firstname Initial1 Initial2 Surname

Is the extra initial enough for this process to fail?

Hi,

It has to match character for character. Call SKY and get them to adjust.

Cheers

Already tried that, they have told him his name is too long to add an additional character.  The times he has spoken to Vodafone, they haven't said they can change their side, do you know if they will if he rings back?

Hi there

Sorry for the inconvenience. The SKY request was resubmitted this morning and will hopefully go through now.

Cheers
