I just want to confirm why there is a 2% Conv Fee applied to us paying our bill online using our Visa Debit Card? This means I'm paying an extra $5 month ($60 year). When I pay other bills such as Power, topping up my Telecom Prepay Via Debit Visa on their website and even buying stuff on Trademe I'm not charged a Conv Fee. So why does Vodafone implement this?

Has this fee been implemented by Visa? And if so why isn't this fee being applied to the other bills I listed? Why would you even be charged using YOUR money on your Visa Debit. I would understand if it was a Credit Card.

It's charged by the CC company.
Most phone companies and Electricity suppliers charge it - but with electricity companies they usually hide it by giving you a smaller prompt payment discount than if you pay by DD

It's all explained in this thread,

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=40&topicid=142465

Fee should be 2% not 5%, I don't like it either and think it's penny pinching so the CEO can get there bonus.

I top up $20 on the Telecom Website, why don't I get charged a Conv Fee? I don't get charged from Trademe, Online Stores either.

Plus I don't get charged when I purchase from stores using my Visa Debit Card? (Inserting chip into the machines)

2% sorry. But I still pay $5 extra each month.
