Hi All,

I have a 130/10 cable connection in Johnsonville, noticed that I've been getting many emails from pingdom advising the connection to my webserver (hosted on the connection in question) going up and down.

I've just setup a check to ping the router so will see if this varies from the www check.

Also wondering why on the Cisco DPC3008 the upstream light is steady orange whereas the others are steady green, wondering what this indicates?

Thanks
Adam

just been on the phone with the vodafone tech, he says that the orange upstream light is normal and that they don't change colour?

I'm sure it was green when it was installed and I'm sure the Cisco PDF I read this morning said that they are multi colour and can be configured by the ISP.

conflicting information

Orange means poor signal, hence the drops. log a fault.

thanks; can I ask where you found that information from before I go blasting the techs at vodafone only to be proven wrong :P

I'm sure you're correct, would just rather have a source other than "tim from the internet told me so".

Cheers ^AW

Tim from the internet looked in the Cisco manual and asked a friend at Vodafone.

Can't get through to faults. Have sent an email via Vodafone's website and also trying Facebook.

Nour @ Vodafone is on the phone with me now, saying she has rebooted the cisco modem and it should be okay, will have to wait until I'm home tonight to see if the modem has all green lights, sounds like she has cleared the log also, it had about 9 timeouts in the log since I had last rebooted it (about 8 days ago).

Nour has organized a VF tech to call back around 8pm when I'm @ home.

I've still got my money on some kind of wiring fault but I guess I'll need to wait until I'm home and will go from there.

Case number: TBC

Yep tech visit is needed. Sounds like a signal fault on your connection.
