In the last month or so we have seen a wave of new users who completely disregard etiquette and act like complete trolls - perhaps not even knowing it.
People who complain, complain but don't contribute to the community except for that.
We have seen this happening in the Slinghshot forums. And before that in the Woosh forums. And even before in the Xtra forums.
While I understand that people want to have their voice heard and want to have problems sorted out, acting as trolls will not help.
It will only make things worse.
Made your point? Great, move on, do something helpful to the community. The companies here read the posts and get the message. Complaining, rinse and repeat doesn't work.
If you have interests in other technologies check our forums to, perhaps, give just a bit of your time to participate in other discussions or help a geek in need of help.
But continuously posting trollish comments is not a great thing. It doesn't help things happen. It only makes some look like idiots.
We are very lucky to have here a few companies that read the forums, answer questions around and help users - even though we already posted in the rules that this is not their help desk. This is an open forum for discussions on their products and services.
Of course the occasional "help me" posts are answered - and it is ok.
But instead of being a space where people can have their voice heard, a few trolls are so loud that everyone loses. Everyone loses when one of the companies says it's enough.
We ban the trolls. Some idiots are not welcome here. In the process we ban some other users who are actually not in the same class and in time we restore those legitimate users when things get cleared up.
But I don't want to see this happening because of a few idiots.
