Well its almost a month since Voda launched there shiny new adsl2+ plans.

Im still waiting to be migrated over from my old broadband 3 plan on IHUG.

I see paul @ Voda said:

"Hope that helps. I realise a month's delay seems like an age in an era when you can sign up and be online and running immediately usually, but it's really beyond anyone's control.

Cheers

Paul

PS - these are MAXIMUMs and we're trying to get them done sooner but it's better to under promise and over deliver, right?

Vodafone"

I notice a real lack of posts about how good/bad the red network is.....so a few questions:

1) whos still waiting to be migrated from the old network to the new red network?

2) who has been migrated over already??

3) With the month only a week away, will EVERYONE be migrated over, as this was the MAX timeframe given by Voda

4) Whos signed up as a new customer, and what there experience been like?

Im getting annoyed that I havent been changed over yet - seems like such a long wait......still no letter or anything from Voda too...  Frown

Thanks
Cal

I'm on Ultimate pack, and I'm in situation 1 - waiting to be migrated.

I wouldn't expect the migration to be completed exactly a month as a max from launch date. I'm expecting it to be around August/September for most people to be moved over.

I hope your wrong mate - especially as Vodafone themselves said ONE MONTH MAXIMUM...and, "its better to under promise and over deliver......

hmmmm........

Makes it tricky for me, as from next Tuesday I can get adsl2 with Orcon....

That's interesting - I switched to Vodafone from XTRA, and was up and running with ADLS2 within a week, not that it helps you, but their priorities seem a bit out of whack if they expedite delivery for new customers.

My experience:

Haven't been blown away, router tells me I'm connected at about 12mbits down, 900kbits up, but download speeds are about the same as they were with XTRA, so I'm thinking they don't have spectacular international capacity either.

My gaming latency (I play on US servers) is about as good as it was with XTRA, hovering between 190 and 250ms.

Thats normal though.....think about it, existing customers never get 'special deals' or anything.

Bit annoying that its now almost a month and no update or letter or anything from Voda.

Thing is, if I wasnt locked in to a contract for the next couple of months, I wouldve just cancelled my connection and signed up again....BINGO, adsl2+ within a couple of days!

Im sure Paul will be on to give us some kind of update though.......maybe....

Vodafone have already explained why the process can't happen overnight - moving customers across is a manual process and there are limits to the number of customers that can be moved (or signed up) per day. VF aren't the only ones hamstrung with this limitation, every ISP is.

It's quite logical that new customers would be provisioned on the new network while existing customers would be migrated across in stages.

I understand that....its time consuming and manual.

Just a little frustrating that I know I couldve been getting a better product than I have now for around a month, but I have to wait.....patience is a virtue I guess!!

I actually posted for a update as Paul @ Voda promised a MONTH MAX for existing cutomers to be migrated....that month is up towards the end of this week.....

He said the hoped to do it quicker, but it was better "to under promise and over deliver, right?"

I have hardly seen any posts about existing customers getting transferred, so either, hardly any forum users are on the old ihug plans.....or the migration is hardly going to timescale.

hence, the call for an update.

cheers

hi guys,

I called Voda for an update yesterday....they couldnt give me a time frame, but said they can request I get changed over early.

They even called me this morning to confirm the request had been sent, and when I arrived home tonight, there was an email confirming my migration on Friday.

I suggest giving them a call!  Smile
