Hi guys, wanted some advice on internet plans for seniors. My mum is on Vodafone get 15 plan which is an old Telstra plan it has the old fashioned Technicolor 7210D modem. This week she could access websites but not Netflix , Lightbox or TVNZ streaming’ apps. I factory reset the modem still no luck trying to get it working short story rang vodafone to get it fixed an hour later back up and running. However the agent said that the modems are no longer supported and there is no guarantee that their fix would work for a long time. The advice was to look at other plans with another modem is this correct can’t I just get another modem? Or should I look at other plans what’s available for seniors?. The plan she has currently is 15g copper phone line and a few free national calls this is 68 per month. The plans I have looked at are around another 10 to 15 per month are there no options now for older people that just want the odd bit of web surfing and email? . Any good plans out there?

Edit forgot to add on Telstra cable currently

I would say no fixed line plans are made for senior citizens (I could be wrong)

But pick up a newer modem online like the HG659 (If you want a free mint condition one for your mum DM me the details will courier to you tomorrow)

Have you actually looked at the fixed line plans offered by VodafoneNZ on the website?

I have a home hub and a HG659 but can’t use it either. I looked online couldn’t find the low gig plans they used to offer just the normal plans. There was a good deal for 24 months but don’t want to lock in that long. Xtra used to offer a10 gig plan as well which is around same price but no longer on website as well. Thanks anyway

Have you checked out this package? 20GB and national calls for $39.99 a month

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/seniors/

Cheaper than their current package but does use the mobile network rather than cable lines.
