Hi there,
I’m not a Vodafone customer but have an overhead coax cable coming into my house. We’re reroofing so want to disconnect it soon, but can’t figure out how to do it properly. Some other threads here indicate it’s a bit difficult with some interesting suggestions.
I keep getting passed between companies. From VF to Chorus, Chorus to VF, VF insisting on my account number and pin :), VF to Downer, then Downer to VF.

Is anyone able to help please?

If its Coax then its not Chorus, its owned by VF and they will contract it to Downer or whoever,

(removed the tag for Jason as Nick is onto it already).

If it's Vodafone cable, they should never, ever be referring you to Chorus - that's Vodafone's own network and I can categorically state that Chorus techs won't touch it.

Sounds like yet another case of customer services overseas not knowing about their own network and just wanting to get you off the phone as quickly as possible.

Incidents like this just give more weight to my argument of them getting all their call centres back here ASAP!

Sigh.

we had the cable line removed from our house too as part of painting/roofing. from my experience I suggest making it clear that you *only* want the coax removed, and certainly do not want the fibre cable touched at all. on the bright side I had the opportunity to place the fibre ETP and ONT in a better location.

That is good news, just a pity it took so much effort to get such a simple thing done. Vodafone referring you to Chorus or any other company is nothing short of incompetence (or laziness).
