I'd like to thank the folks at WorldExchange/XNet (Nicolas, Jon-Paul, Faye) for some really nice service.
I had a REALLY bad experience with my Linksys WAG54GP2v2 unit, it being either a faulty unit or bad firmware, and they went our of their way to arrange a replacement unit (I'm assuming this is not the norm).

Thanks a bunch, guys!

Been getting VERY poor connection & quality on international calls, and I'm hoping the new unit will go some way toward addressing this.

Cheers

-J

Actually, I think it is the norm for the CSR's to be incredibly helpful.  It's a shame they're let down by other issues.

Yeah it is a shame their international bandwidth is so terrible as there are some golden people at WXC! their VFX lines are great to.

don't quite understand why the international traffic is such an issue (seems the issue could be more political than technical)

i'm using voda as my mobile provider, and the calls are pretty crisp.
i've made calls to the UK over my VoIP line, and that was OK too.

may have to resort to setting up my own voip server, but was hoping to avoid resorting to this....

Yes it's a tad disappointing that their international service is not very good, because their customer service is actually one of the best. The other providers could learn a lot from WXC. Sadly I'm dumping them for Telecom precisely because of this issue. I would love to stay with WXC but it doesn't make sense to do so when Telecom (for once!) offers a superior service.

Are you refering to voice calls or accessing international websites?

There appeared to be a major problem for a lot of users with regards to international bandwidth with many not even being able to stream a youtube video without a few minutes of buffering.

If you have a read through many of the xnet threads you will see this has been the reason why a lot of users have moved back to one of the larger providers (Telecom/Vodafone/Clearnet etc) as they appear to have a lot more bandwidth when you need it.

It is a shame because as has been pointed out above the staff at xnet are very good but at the end of the day if you are selling and servicing Lada's you can never get it to run like a Ferrari no matter how good the csr team are.

Hopefully one day when bandwidth is abundant (if ever) and all companies can afford to buy what they need to keep their customers happy xnet will still be around with their great csr staff.
