Hi all ... just wondering who else has been hit by Vodafone's voice network outage this morning?

It seems all of my staff have issues with calling from their mobiles in the wider Auckland region. I tried placing 20+ on my way to the office and only one of them connected - and that was to Vodafone customer service who admitted a problem but wouldn't admit how widespread it was. Evidence from my team including one in Hibiscus Coast suggests the service interuption is widespread.

Who else is having problems?

A post by Vodafone on their website states: "Some 3G mobile customers in and around the Auckland CDB maybe experiencing coverage issues or are unable to TXT or place calls."

It seems their network monitoring systems are lacking, as we've seen in issues in parts of West Auckland, Hibiscus Coast and possibly North Shore.

As they're indicating it's just the 3G voice network I might try switching to 2G.

Switched to 2G and seemed fine. Now 3G seems fine also. A fairly embarrising outage at a peak time for Vodafone.

Just a FYI this was not a 3G core network outage

Thanks John - any idea what the issue was? It didn't seem to impact data from what I could see, but I could be wrong.
