Hey, so im trying to get my dad to change from slingshot to vodafone, because im sick of the sh*t speeds we are getting with them.

i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the speeds are like, do they change much in peak times?

I'm in christchurch, and we would be going on the $100/m phone and internet bundle.

Yeah give their call center in Egypt a call. Don't let the short bursts of kalashnikov fire in the background distract you.

Your sales guys might be, but most of your 1st level customer support doesn't seem to be

my experince would seem to back this statement. Every time i've rung support (i'm on account), I have no reason to believe the person I'm speaking to is based in the Auckland CBD.  My guess would be Cairo or somewhere else outside NZ

Well, of the last 10 or so calls I have made to 777, I have got Cairo every time, even on my corporate connection if I call 777 I get Cairo. I think 888 goes to NZ Business support but we have only recently been given that and I haven't had to call yet

I thought 888 was wicked welcomes and ringtones? lol

and we usually do get about 17Mbps so im thinking that we will get about the same on vodafone.

anything is better than the 0.70Mbps down we are on right now!

If you're simply moving to a Telecom Wholesale connection your sync speed won't change.

Hamish I assume your Dad is not in the TelstraClear cable "InHome" area? If it is a possibility I would recommend the Telstra 'broadband only' plans coupled with Xnet VoIP service. Comes to $67 for 20Gb (15mbps/2mpbs) and phone service. Cheers, John
