I need texts to both networks and i dont want to give up my 6265, so at the moment VF dont really have anything to lure me away from telecom
From my point of view free TXT weekends was great, as most serious TXTers would have both a Vodafone to use on the weekend and a Telecom mobile to use during the weekdays. Now if we think about it Telecom gets $10 per mobile (assuming they send 50 or more txt messages), and what does Vodafone get from these users who have both?? Nothing!! Brilliant!!
That’s why I never saw free txt weekends as a long term promo, just wasn’t logical.
Cheers

johnr: I am sure Vodafone find SMS coming from 027 to the 021 network great as well cause VFNZ get revenu from this
Point taken. I was looking at it from a consumer’s point of view, but yes one must look at it from a commercial point as well to gain a balanced picture.
simon_nz90: SO far, Free Text Weekends has been around for 15 months ( it was launched in March 2005) - so they have been around for a long term period.
I guess it comes down to what you define as the 'long' term, sorry but I'll stick with my original comment on this one.
Cheers
