I haven't seen speeds that slow in Johnsonville. Granted I see 50% (60 - 65Mbps on a 130Mbps connection) at peak time, but haven't seen anything lower than that for a while.

Good times when 130 Mbps connections delivered 130 Mbps all the time, every day...

VodafoneDylan:
Nish: Pretty crappy in Wainuiomata today

On a 130/10 connection

I might be unpopular for saying it in this thread, but please do troubleshoot as normal, not everything is related to congestion. There can still be normal issues like wifi, routers, other devices playing up. You can see by how this thread has slowed down (pun unintended) that this issue isn't the same as it was before. I've heard that traffic on the cable network has been falling back just a little recently as people go on holiday etc.

Given I get full speeds during the day and then a massive drop in the evening (again) probably indicates that the issue is probably not on my local network at home. Having said that, its been very good since the work was completed with speeds staying around the 80 - 90Mbps down which is perfectly acceptable for me during peak hours.

I just ran a speed test and got another very crappy result with it struggling to break 10Mbps down

I logged another ticket with Vodafone and was told there will be more node upgrades tomorrow (the 17th) in Miramar.  Will wait and see.

My downstream speeds have fluctuated between 30Mb and 40Mb tonight which is usable.....but not what I pay for.

It seems to have bounced back a bit to more usable speeds now.

I personally cannot wait for UFB which alas won't arrive in my area (Khandallah) till mid next year. DOCSIS 3,5 might be faster but with cable I have micro outages (for me anyway) and erratic speed, fibre has to be better.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

A Christmas present for Island Bay?

Island Bay cable users - including me - have had significant congestion problems persisting beyond the 01 October upgrade.

Things seem to have improved over the last week.

Here are my TrueNet speed stats, averaged hourly over the past week:

This is a 100/10 connection.  Speeds are now maintained above 90Mbps, even at 9pm.  Just like 2014!  wink

Thank you VF smile

This *might* be due to the people taking off for the xmas break, but I hope it's a sign of this being the way forward?

Hey Dylan,

Does Vodafone have any further upgrades planned?  My speeds are still all over the place in the evenings.  Sometimes down around 15-20Mb sometimes around 45-55Mb but never up around the 100Mb range.  During the day it's still running fine at around 100Mb.

Thanks.

yes, specifically in January, and also yes, probably forever, until people stop finding new things to do on the internet. :)
