woody99: Given the changes to the activation process (having to be activated before leaving the store), I wonder how those with unlocked first gen iphones will go updating to 2.0 - I suspect it will be a case of wait for a crack?
Any news as to how those with legitimate first gen phones will update? Will they have to visit a store to have it done?
The anonymous tipster also claimed the 8GB iPhone model will cost $220, the 16GB $330, and both would only be available on a 24-month contract.
redjet: I also found this, although Optus are denying the details...Those look like great prices for what on the surface looks like a great phone.

Gizmodo published a "leaked" printout with two columns that outlined an Optus iPhone plan with a $79 Cap and another with a $99 Cap. Both plans appeared to include a relatively small amount of data – 1GB per month on the $79 Cap, and 3GB for the $99 Cap.The anonymous tipster also claimed the 8GB iPhone model will cost $220, the 16GB $330, and both would only be available on a 24-month contract.

sbiddle: It's a laugh to read the Gizmodo story and hear all the Aussie's bleating about the $79 plan being too expensive! To get similair airtime usage and data in NZ (depending on a lot of variables such as number of calls etc you'd be looking somewhere around NZ$150 - $200 based upon our current Vodafone pricing.
They just don't know how lucky they are..

I just looked on Vodafone's site and you can get a Talk 150 plan with 3GB data for $130. Not too shabby.

Do you mean a You Choose 120 @ $59.95, plus a no-term Broadband Pro @ $79.95? = $139.90...
Standard VFNZ offering, has been out for many months now... Unsure what a Talk150 plan is though, weren't the 'talk' plans legacy TNZ?
