Linux: Anyone having issues with Prime this evening trying to watch Yorkshire Airport?

Frequent freezing made the 5:30pm news unwatchable on Prime. I just switched back now to check, and yes the same problem is still happening.

First of all, I'd like to congratulate you Vodafone NZ team for a great job on this great little device. I have now two of them running with an overall good performance.

One thing that I noticed lately is that a good percentage of the BRAVO programs and some good movies on the THREE channel cannot be rewinded if you are late. With freview, you could always go to the +1 respective channels to at least be able to watch them from the begining. With Vodafone TV unfortunately there is no way.

Are there any plans to include those channels (THREE +1 and BRAVO +1) anytime soon? It would be greatly appreciated by my family :)

Thanks!

Thanks for the positive feedback!  If the freeview programmes all had catchup then there wouldn't be any need for (and cost of supporting) the +1 channels.  However, I take your point on Bravo & Three rights.  We'll have a look at this.

Thanks for your quick response. In the past (I think it was beggining of lockdown) you included TVNZ2 +1, so I guess technically it is possible. As I said, it would be a great addition to what is otherwise a great service.

Regards.

I've noticed something with my Gen1 unit. When i leave it on TV3 (not specifically Tv3 related just thats where I leave it)

After a while the smoothness of video becomes slightly jerky. I often watch the A.m Show in the morning. Its quite noticable on the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen. Checking the bandwidth confirms its 6024kbit as it should be.

The effect is as though its dropping a couple of frames

Changing the channel then back to 3 fixes the issue.

I dont have any motion function enabled on this set , so it cant be related to that.

Im running via wired ethernet direct to the router 2 feet away

I notice this often, looks to me like it changes from 50 to 25 fps as similar to the old Spark Sport  low frame rate effect.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Same issue here. A channel change or power cycle usually fixes it but it does get annoying.

Here’s another issue would like to know if others are getting.

If you start watching a program 10mins after it starts and select to restart. Everything plays fine until 10mins from the end. It instantly stops the catchup and starts playing live TV. I have to rewind the program back to where I was before it kicked me out of the catchup.

I wonder if its something to do with playing from a memory buffer and some sort of memory leak gradually effecting playback.

Its quite obvious when i turn the tv on, say around 10-12 hours after last watching.

@sansom we have started a new issue. Trying to watch Choice TV last night and the picture does a strange flicking effect about every 20 seconds. We tried a few times to watch and it was the same throughout the evening. I will check again today. It was unwatchable.

This has been the behaviour since launch. Once it goes to live, you click OK and Restart for the next program and you will see the end of the program you've just been watching.

@sansom might have more information on when this will be fixed.

To be clear, from previous posts - this is on Gen1, right?
