On mine when the video starts to go jittery pressing ffwd multiple times stops it. to me it indicates some time of buffering lag on the device getting things out of sync

When I disconnected by VTV and shoved it in a drawer earlier this year I planned to check back here after a few months to see if things had improved. The feedback over the last couple of pages is pretty disappointing to read.

I have gone back to using my Apple TV and it provides a much better user experience. It won't be a suitable solution for everyone because as far as I'm aware it doesn't provide access to Sky channels, but if you only need 3Now, Neon, YouTube, etc. then it's an option worth considering.

Our VTV has done what it is programmed to do very well. Beautiful remote too! Shame about the user interface.

Only significant annoyance is that every day when we watch a recording of Newshub 6pm news, the fast-forwarding gets screwed up, and jumps back to the start of the second section I think. (Thanks again to @Linux who reminded me of the workaround - the +/- 20 second buttons.) OK, it's a First World problem, but it seems ages ago it was first mentioned on this board.

Mines been fine and perfectly acceptable up until it began the jittery video issue in the past few weeks. Im sure its a bug that will get crushed in the next update

@Sansom did the Beta of VTV Gen2 box get the latest updates, as I note that my beta test subscription still has a Lightbox icon under apps rather than a Neon icon?

@ivanpiacun - my box ( non beta ) has been going back and forward between the two icons since the merger, seems like every time i turn it on it has changed :)

Probably a Freeview problem but...

For some reason "Country Calendar" is (wrongly) showing up on Monday 17 August 2 PM in the Freeview website and (wrongly again) on the 17 August 1.30 PM on the VFV box guide. It also shows on its correct time of Sunday evening (previous evening).

If you click catch-up on either the Monday entry or Sunday entry you get Monday's Emmerdale...

Obviously available on TVNZ on-demand app but the quick catch-up way of watching it just doesn't work with this screwed up grid.

I've had a few channels like HGTV and Duke disappear from the guide tonight. There is no sign of them, and I can't enter their channel numbers when watching TV. Hopefully not permanent...

Remember Duke will be used for remote education, so could be related?

Why what was it doing or not doing?

Literally nothing. It’s either stuck on a black screen or a screen from a previous show. A press of the remote will only make the LED flash nothing else not even stand by. Switching off at the wall is the only way to bring it back to life.

It sounds like you have a dud there, have you tried getting it replaced?
