mdf: <snip>   How do you tell which node you're on? ...

PM @johnr and ask him - he'll need your address and VF account number.

Things pretty good here, although last night there were some sizeable dropouts. Dylan has confirmed that we're on WKH also. 50/2 plan tested via ethernet.

Flatmate was complaining about the connection right the second I got home from work. We're comfortably below 50% of advertised speeds right now, before 7 pm. He was also complaining of bandwidth and latency fluctuations just after 5:30 pm.

Something tells me this extended weekend is going to suck. Fortunately, I'll be in talks with other close friends about finding a new flat in the next couple of days and we're prioritising fibre availability as one of our criteria.

I had a guy from downers (Wellington Fibre and cable workers) at my place today doing some work, I asked him about the congestion issues and Vodafone's Gigabyte upgrades and he said he has been instructed that he can not talk about it.

Island Bay, 100/10 cable, tested via ethernet, 9.26pm:

Very hard to test tonight, as very variable consecutive test results, ranging from 12 to 44 Mbps - low 20's was typical.

@Johnr (thanks John!) has confirmed we're on Berhampore node WKF. 50/2 plan, over wifi has pretty good results:

Island Bay, 100/10 cable

More of the same tonight.

Here are my TrueNet stats for the past week:

Note that these hourly speeds are AVERAGED over 7 days - some nights are better, some are worse.

Unacceptable.

And my connection is completely dead. I tried rebooting the modem, nothing. Back to using my phone as a hotspot. At least 2degrees have a network I can actually rely on.

Wainuiomata's fix was good while it lasted, perhaps 3 months of good performance. Mine is better than yours, but trending downwards. Soon it's going to drop to the point where it impacts daily life, at which stage I resume nagging again like I was when I started this never ending thread of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

While they are working on Island Bay, the other nodes which they thought they had 'fixed' are catching fire again I suspect.

If only they actually were working on Island Bay. They've been saying work was a week or two away since mid January. As far as I'm aware it's still a week or two away.
