I just had the technician over to set up the TV and phone service just now and he tells me that it's the gen 1 boxes that they installed with the broadband and he's enquired about whether they will install the gen 2 but he hasn't heard back and he said they have 2 pellets of gen 1 lol.

Rickles:

As a matter of interest, what are the main differences between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 devices?

The differences are on the Vodafone website and look unchanged from last year. See my earlier post.

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/tv/vodafone-tv/

  • Connectivity - Ethernet 100Mbps & Wi-Fi 802.11ac and requires 5GHZ capable modem
  • Remote – Infrared & Bluetooth 4.2/BLE
  • Output Resolution  - HDMI 2.0a, SD/HD/UHD (4K )
  • Audio output - Stereo 2.0 and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound

Sorry if this has been covered but soo many pages in this thread. My vodafone tv was working okish , I only have one hdmi plug on one of the TVs so I hooked up an hdmi switch so I could use my chromecast to watch sky now app. The Vodafone tv keeps saying connecting to internet even though I can see it’s connected to my Orbi. I reset the thing now I can’t connect to WiFi via the isp  router or the Orbi even though I know the passwordS are correct. I have reset the stupid thing twice , any ideas of how to get this painful box to connect by WiFi?. I can’t connect this tv by Ethernet yet. Cheers

4th time lucky managed to connect it to the isp router , it still won’t connect to orbi it displays it three times as a wifi option (2 satellites and router) it’s the only device I have that shows it this way. Great way to waste an hour connecting the paper weight

Is this Orbi system bought in New Zealand? Not from a parallel importer? Is this a US-version or New Zealand version? Could it be automatically using some of the US channels that aren't available in New Zealand? Have you configured the Orbi to not use the Radar channels which cause interference and disrupt the connection?

Hi no just the normal nz version from Noel lemmings, I will have a go at logging on to all three orbi options see if one connects tomorrow . When I first connected it only showed up one orbi log on not sure why it’s displaying all three. It was working well until I connected the belkin hdmi switch

all kind problems since 12a/m cant access programs via catch up from earlier in the evening and load of issues with connecting

3 power offs done already.

Assume an actual outage this time.. or those DDOS hackers have moved on to a new target

@ZollyMonsta we have the same issue with the connecting to the internet message in the top right corner. We are also with Orcon 900/500 UFB. We are using Wifi from a Google Nest system

Edit: I have done a power cycle and the error state is still present. The Orcon internet connection is OK and the Google Mesh system is OK

This issue should now be resolved with Orcon/Slingshot connections.

Cheers
Grant
