Mine isn't on the list and wasn't purchased from them and wifi calling seems to work fine...maybe I'm just lucky in that regard.

Way I see it, kinda logical.
It starts working for one reason. OTA updates.

If your device is newer and thus moved to more a universal firmware platform/plan (IE androidONE or Samsung base) it is far more likely to use common settings/updates to cut licencing and manufacturing tests/costs

So a NZ update sent to the maker may span multiple models not specifically listed as a bonus result.

Random model on custom OS/ firmware with no ties to nz market, yeah nah. BUT if they have a nz foothold on a single different model, and share updates, one day randomly could.

Linux: If WiFi calling use to work and is no longer working on your handset and it is on the approved list then log a fault with VodafoneNZ!

tried to log a fault call to Vodafone chat, they said they are not train to do it? we need to call samsung about it.

Talked to another person, this time he is willing to do some troubleshooting on my phone.. but still refused to log a fault to Vodafone NZ

I have also log a call on the Samsung chat too, this guy said he heard nothing about this issue, but still do some troubleshooting on my phone, at the end he gave up on my refusal of the troubleshooting and log a fault on their software team.

One hand Samsung and vfnz is having to support 2 variants(due to chip shortages) of the handset(it also runs on xnz so no brand iirc) and vfnz are probably internally testing the heck out of it to make sure it works(some of the other 20 series were delayed).

Wifi calling isn't new. It's been a thing in many countries for a long time. VF stupidly cut Sure Signal before ensuring at least the majority of people in rural areas could get an alternative.

It simply can't be that involved to test this functionality on devices, unless they are reinventing the wheel, and if they are doing that, then why?

WiFi calling isn't new but everyone does it differently (carriers and vendors, take this and apply it to VoLTE and it's pretty dead on). Yeah sucks sure signal died before WiFi calling was matured but I'm not shocked or surprised rather.

If there was an open standard and everyone used it we wouldn't be having this conversation.

That's another thing I was worried about (slight tangent) -that my parallel imported handset may not have supported VoLTE either, but that works fine too. Again, I guess I got lucky.

Got an oppo find x 3 over the weekend, dual SIM 5G and listed as on special.

Listed on the page is having WiFi calling, still no Wi-Fi calling update. Wasn't included in the 11.1 update pending out of box

Off to a stellar start

It does have a speaker socket and built-in FM tuner which is a bonus ,might be able to retire my S3

Lite or pro?
I have the pro and wifi calling is working.

Was thinking to get the lite, for my wife, during the weekend special (special got extended, while others sell it even cheaper), but I hesitated.

OK, I'm not going into the cheaper story.

Back on topic. Did you try putting the phone into airplane mode and enabling WiFi? WiFi calling kicks in only when you have no or very poor reception.
