scheduler: You are right Oxnsox. I wandered over to Vodafone Downtown and picked up the latest mailer. It has the 1 GB addon for smart plans listed at $20.00

Does the mailer also mention anything about whether the 1GB data bonus is applicable to month by month customers?

Surprise surprise an offer in line with 2D (but nationwide data) lol

So the $45 plan + data pack puts it in a similar position to its competitors offerings... It all becomes a marketing race!!

Only if you want the minutes. I don't.

A Telecom pre-pay account with TXT2500 ($12) and the 4GB + 4GB mobile data ($80+$30) gets you a phone with 8GB of data and loads of TXTs for $122 / month. Minutes are 69 cents each...and I use about 10 / month.

If you go for the XT 2GB + 2GB mobile data option you're looking at $61 + $29 / month for a total of 4GB and 2500 txts (totalling $102) and casual minutes at 69 cents each.

On Vodafone, the same would cost $45 plus 8 x $20 = $205.

XT wins for the mainly data user.

Not a small gap, either.

Just got off the phone with a Voda CSR, who checked with his supervisor and confirmed that the 1GB data bonus also applies to month to month customers. Yay!!!

Only for 6 months....and I use 2.5GB / month....so I would still have to buy at least two more data packs for $40 / month = $120 / month.

For the same money I can get 8GB on the XT network.

maybe you would have been better to sign up for the old VF Smart 1 plan last week and receive 3gb/mth for $40 and as a bonus receive 60 free minutes :P

True, its only for 6 month but I am not locked in, so who know what new offers would be available in 6 months time, at least I have the freedom to look at other offers.

I would have but wanted to get the LG Optimus 3D phone with a sign-up discount. But that phone isn't available yet. Looks like I'll just order one for full-price from somewhere else and make sure it's XT-compatible.

I love my HTC Sensation....but I want a phone with a 3D camera and 3D display screen.

If I'm going to be there anyway....why not.

But yeah.....Paying full price does work out cheaper.

So the price has basically increased, for what - extra minutes and texts, that no one really uses?

250mb data in this day and age? Seriously ... pathetic!

Thanks VF, you helped maked my decision easier on moving to another carrier.
