Did you end up getting the app working again after this? stuck in the same issue myself..

I am planning to head back to Vodafone after about 6 months on Skinny and I have a N5 so went into the local Vodafone store to buy a SIM. It seems Semble SIM cards are free at the moment so I grabbed one even though I won't be able to use it 1) because the N5 isn't supported and 2) because I don't bank with either ASB or BNZ.

Still since the SIM will work as a regular one that is a free way to get a SIM from Vodafone.

Wonder if the N6x or 6P will be supported?

Nexus devices will most likely never work with Semble because they lack the smartcardservice required for Semble to function. :)

Will Semble still work after the KNOX warranty bit has been tripped to 0x01?

I don't get it. Doesn't the sim carry the smart card service? And even then, the 6P is Android Pay ready, which is the same technology, right?

Nope and nope. :)

Smartcardservice is a proprietary module that allows (among other things) the secure NFC SIM element to communicate with the Semble app. Because it's proprietary, Google doesn't include it in Nexus phones.

Android Pay (and Apple Pay) do not use NFC SIMs, so don't need the service to communicate in this manner.

So, unfortunately, Nexus phones and Semble will never play nicely together in the current implementation.

Android pay has nothing to do with the telco. Semble in NZ is unique in that it involves all the telcos and the participating banks. Its an anomaly compared with payments in the rest of the world.
