Two words for the next two weeks. School Holidays.

Expect everything to be consistent all day long.

Already started. Tonight was the first time Netflix stopped for buffering - as much as five times in 20 minutes.

B. wasn't impressed.

I've had that problem on and off for a few weeks. Though not for the last few days and not tonight.

Anyone in and around Avalon/Naenae/Taita? is this congestion a network wide phenomenon or something that is just localised?

I have been following this thread for a couple weeks now. Currently I'm on Fibre, oh its so wonderful :) But I brought a new house in Woodridge (close to Newlands) and have signed up for cable as there is no Fibre :( SO another person to add to the congestion issues I'm sorry. Can anybody tell me their experiences in this area (Woodridge/Jville/Newlands) so i can know what to expect. Also, how is cable setup, what is installed?

Am in central Lower Hutt, and yes am affected.  The speed drop is to equivalent of what the people posting truenet shots in this thread are indicating.  Its still very usable, but I dont stream video at peak times, so not as frustrating for me.

Ah, all good - I'm a night worker so the main times I'll be using it are before work or really early in the morning around 2-5am so I'll pretty much avoid the congestion except for when I have my day off on Sunday/Monday.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I suggest you create a new topic for your cable setup question.

As for the topic, I've heard there are some new hardware coming in that is part of the planned work.

That was testing directly connected to the cable modem and to the wellington server using http://wellington.speedtest.vodafone.co.nz/.

It seems to have gone up a bit now and am able to stream netflix now.
