"The price for New Zealand?s fastest broadband starts at just $115.95 per month for 100Gb of data, 100Mbps download speed and 10Mbps upload.
"

Blows our VDSL package out of the water, which until 2 minutes ago seemed pretty good value :(

Beccara: I really have to laugh, You guys could have waited atleast 12 months from when your CEO was quoted as saying "No demand" for this product as a reason why you didn't release plans

Hi Beccara. As we said last year, there was no demand then. Now we believe that there is and we have launched the product as we said we would.

freitasm: “We are bringing the future to Kiwis today. You don’t need to wait up to 10 years for ultra fast broadband.”

Excellent... except I'm not in a TCL cabled area. What's the plan for the rest of the country?

Hi Skillie.Customers on current LightSpeed 90 and 120Gb plans will remain on these or they can upgrade to the new faster plans if they wish. The LightSpeed 90 and 120Gb plans are no longer available for sale.

Hi Behodar. We have our range of HomePlan broadband options, inclduing our very popular $75/month for 40Gb offer. We'll also be a major player in delivering services and content over UFB.

Have upgraded to the 150 GB for $155.95 and it should be switched within 24 hours. I don't know whether I'll see any extra speed (in either direction) until the new modem that is needed is installed next Tuesday.

That will save us $23.25 for the first 150 GB usage compared to the old 120 GB for $134.95 plan. However the price for additional usage has STILL not reduced :-(

The 10 Mbps upload will be nice though. I care about that FAR more than the 100 Mbps down.

The problem with the current HomePlan services (which I'm currently using) is that they're so slow! I'm very interested in UFB, but when will that happen? I'm supposed to be getting pricing from Orcon in the next couple of weeks but I'd prefer to stay with TelstraClear because I know what the service quality is like.

Hi Behodar. You may be interested in this statement that we gave to the media when they asked the same question about pricing recently:

"TelstraClear prefers to offer consumers a package of services that provide real value rather than simply announcing prices for basic services. For example, our current new customer offer of $75 for phone, broadband and 40Gb of data, plus two months free and a free wireless modem, provides people with a complete package at a market-leading price. TelstraClear will develop and offer packages that deliver great value to customers no matter how their services are delivered. As we have stated many times, it is the content that matters and not the delivery mechanism, whether copper, fibre or wireless. We are working on UFB packages that provide our customers with products and services that meet their content needs. These will be announced as soon as the fibre terms and conditions are clear. Our advice to customers considering fibre is to wait until there is choice in the market before making a decision, and to carefully check the specific terms and conditions, particularly around installation costs and equipment requirements. We are confident that our UFB packages will be extremely attractive and highly competitive."

As Allan Freeth has stated, we're looking forward to bringing the type of products and services that our cable customers already enjoy to New Zealanders no matter where they live.

If your home is due to be connected to fibre before we announce the fibre services, packages and prices, please contact me and we'll see what we can do for you.

Cheers, Gary

Thanks Gary, that sounds promising. I'm expecting to get some information about fibre connection soon, so I'll be in touch once I know the timeframes around this.

Thanks again :)

brucehoult: I definitely do NOT want unlimited anything. It will always suck. I want decent speed and am happy to pay for what I use. However per GB prices for additional data have not come down in something like five years, which seems wrong.

Throughput on my slingshot unlimited plan during the business day is awesome.  It's only towards evening that it slows down.  It's proved to be great for working from home.  And national traffic is always fast -- I'd wanted a plan with free national traffic and this looks like the only way to get it.

In general, there are more options on ADSL.  I don't remember TCL cable being blazingly fast for international traffic back when I was their customer -- maybe they've improved in the last year?

I was told by the call centre this morning my new cap wouldnt kick in until the new modem was installed. Be a bonus if it did!
