Would this explain why I was getting 4 copies of texts sent to me from the US?

No not at all the US is the sending party not NZ

Issue was only sending TXT

Interesting. I got the same text 4 times (different send times) from a friend in the US (Cingular Wireless).  I know he only sent it once. But he also told me that a message I sent him (over 2G) took several hours to be delivered. That was on New Year's eve. So I am guessing it was part of the problem that is described in this thread?

Is it charging you for all 3 messges?  

Would appear I have been pinged for 3 txt, I guess a call to Vodafone when my bill comes in

No not at all the US is the sending party not NZ

Issue was only sending TXT

It could explain that too, if your phone received a txt but the Vodafone network did not receive confirmation back from your phone. This is also true for poor signal areas, and of course overloaded cells (as seemed to be the case).

A luxuary that us on prepay do not have the ability to do.

Wonder how widespread these instances of overcharging with vodafone are?
